Metro2033,Alan Wake, Splinter Cell Conviction are not exclusives and they did not sell bad because Metro is getting a sequel, Alan Wake sold enough that they released the American Nightmare, and Splinter Cell is getting another game next year.
Crackdown is the only exclusive you listed which sold well but thats because it came with the Halo 3 Beta which was one of the biggest games of this gen.
Damn The PS3 is gonna be loaded with both great multiplats and exclusives next year. 2013>2012 for gaming.
I feel both Starhawk and Twisted Metal(2012) both would have sold better as PSN only games at around $20-$30. Both games single players were not great as the games were multiplayer heavy.

I wanted Drake vs Sweet Tooth too but Superbot is using logic by matching up Kratos vs Sweet Tooth as they both were created by Jaffe. Just like Nariko vs New Dante are both created by Ninja theory so thats probably why they went with these rivalries.
So rivals so far are:
1.Kratos vs Sweet Tooth (both are created by Jaffe)
2.Nariko vs New Dante (both game devs were Ninja Theory)
3.Ratchet w/Clank vs Jak w/Daxter (fits perfectly because came out around the same time and are major PS2 icons plus I always so it as Naughty Dog vs insomniac round 2)
4.Sackboy vs Big Daddy (reason IDK maybe Ken Levine wanted this since he wrote Big Daddy's script. Plus sounds like it would be funny.)

These four characters included plus an Assassin and Kat as DLC would make this game an instant buy for so many. If any of these characters are left out I will still buy the game but be disappointed that iconic characters like Snake and Crash were left out.
To hell with Activision for not allowing Crash and Spyro and to hell with Square Enix for not allowing a Lara Croft and a FF/KH character.
They just showed they don't care about their fans.
I wish Sony included a little more first party characters like Dart, Kat, and, Jennifer Tate.
Sony needs more villains and female characters in this game.

Regarding New Dante being used because Capcom said so just proves Capcom really don't care about their fans anymore.
